Hailing from Greensboro, NC, Ian is “El Capitan” at Seeds of Change. He moved to Knoxville to join the Fellows program in the Fall of 2015 and hasn’t looked back since!

After launching Seeds that same year, Ian has been faithfully building and leading the company, vision and culture: day by day, year by year. He is well loved by the community and team alike.

When not in the office, getting his hands dirty in the field, or brainstorming with other local thought leaders, Ian can be found playing every sport under the sun: Basketball, spike-ball, kayaking. You name it and he will want to play it. Ian also has a profound skill for the piano and some have called him the modern Beethoven.

Today, Ian is committed to establishing Seeds of Change as a model Second Chance employer in the Knoxville area and beyond. He sees this being achieved by actively improving our standards and quality of work, helping other leaders start and grow local businesses using this model, and starting a social enterprise coalition to unite and innovate business on a larger scale.
